PMG Members from across the network were invited to join together for a Sustainability Seminar in September 2023.
This important topic threads through all areas of business and we knew the membership was keen to gather practical information and engage in shared learning, in various aspects of the Sustainability journey.
We were delighted when the University of Plymouth Enterprise Solutions team said they could host us with a suitable room and brunch sustenance to keep the grey cells working! Thank you Enterprise Solutions team!
A huge thankyou must go to Paul Gilbert – Net Zero Specialist at SWMAS for helping us put together the agenda for the morning seminar and then leading us through the refresher on measuring Scope 1 and 2 and explaining in more depth about Scope 3 and how to begin to tackle this complex measuring requirement.
Our Peer to Peer learning came from the brilliant Zoe Sharland of Magma Moulding who has carried out her company’s Scope 3 measuring and had great insights to share with the group – thank you Zoe!
After a networking brunch, an excellent team from Womble Bond Dickinson, Plymouth covered Sustainability & the Law: navigating regulations, contracts and voluntary codes and how to watch out for “green washing”!
And finally, the University’s own Dr Hanne Knight took us through a positive thinking workshop on “How to effectively communicate net zero efforts”.
It was a rather busy morning for everyone’s brains and we were delighted with how everyone was so engaged, sharing their experiences and ready to dive deeper again into their Net Zero mission!
After all, as we discussed, there is no Planet B!
